Reiki is a Japanese technique that enhances the flow of Life force energy ("Chi" or "Ki"). It works on the body as a whole, more specifically on the chakras and the Aura. When negative energy becomes lodged in the chakras, our flow of Life force is reduced.

Reiki treats someone on all levels. It re-balances our body, mind and energy through the hands-on channelling of the ‘universal life force’. It is used for stress reduction, healing and gives you a sense of increased inner peace and well-being. Reiki is often referred to as recharging one’s batteries.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not attached to any religion. Anyone can benefit from it.

​What happens in a Reiki session?

During a Reiki session, you usually lie down and remain fully clothed. The practitioner places their hands in various positions above different parts of the body and channels the energy through the palms. Often, the hands are placed intuitively. The touch is gentle, light and comfortable. If you wish, the treatment can be ‘hands-off’ with the practitioner placing their hands about 5 cms above the body.

The body is a remarkable energy field that responds positively to loving treatments. Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some feel a slight tingling or sensation of warmth, others just a deep relaxation. Some find themselves in a deep meditative state whilst others feel rejuvenated and energised. Some even fall asleep.

There is no right or wrong way of experiencing Reiki. All you have to do is relax. I normally do a full body scan to check for any energy blockages before starting a session.
